Marrakech: imperial town 1 day trip
Departure for Marrakech, by the highway for a day trip. Arrived in Marrakech, we begin our visit to discover the best tourist sites of the city:
1- The Menara Gardens: embody a typical Islamic garden. In the 12th century, there is a large basin overlooked by a pavilion of green canvases.
2- Saadian tombs: The royal tombs of the Saadian dynasty are beautifully adorned with domed ceilings, intricate carvings and ornate plasterwork.
3- The Koutoubia Mosque and Minaret: was built in 1120 and standing at 70m, it is the spiritual landmark of Marrakech.
4- Djemaa El-fna: is a square and market in the beating heart of the medina. A square famous for staging an incredible show with snake charmers and Moroccan folk music.
5- Ali Ben Youssef Madrasa: is an ancient Koranic school, built in the 14th century, and it is one of the largest theological schools in North Africa.
6- The Souks: a labyrinth to walk around and where you let your senses explore sights, smells and sounds. Is a place for traditional pottery to decorating metals, leather goods, fabrics, spices.
7- The old Jewish quarter: originally created in 1558 by the Saadians. It was home to the Jewish population of Marrakech, consisting mainly of metal workers, sugar traders, bankers, jewelers and tailors.
